This website has been developed in cooperation between Live Performance Australia (LPA) and the Media Entertainment and Arts Alliance (MEAA) to provide practical advice to the live entertainment and performing arts industry relating to workers compensation matters.
Funding for this project was provided by the Victorian WorkCover Authority in 2005/06 through the Workplace Injury Insurance Safety Fund (WIISF)
Consultation with the Live Performance industry in Victoria found that there are a range of unique circumstances which apply to their businesses which have not always been addressed in the workers compensation resources available to date.
This website has been developed through extensive consultation with a cross section of employers and employees in the Victorian Live Performance industry.
ClaimsmART provides practical advice in relation to specific scenarios likely to be encountered in the Live Performance industry. It contains contact details for people working in the industry who have offered to share their knowledge and experience of workers compensation with others in the industry sector as required. This assistance is specifically targeted to the smaller employers within the sector who generally have limited experience and training in managing workers compensation issues.
If advice is required in relation to the prevention of illness and injury and compliance with OHS legislation, comprehensive resource manuals developed by the sector can be found on the MEAA’s dedicated OHS website ohs.alliance.org.au and the LPA website www.liveperformance.com.au
